The role Wayve’s Engineering Validation team builds confidence in the autonomy systems we deliver to product and customer teams. As a Tech Lead, you will lead the design and development of test scenarios, leveraging Wayve’s unique methods for end-to-end model validation. As the industry transitions from programmatic to fully learned autonomy, this team plays a pivotal role in establishing AI trust and safety through AI-powered simulation and scenario generation that meet emerging AV industry standards.

Requirements

  • Strong systems thinker who works seamlessly across functions.
  • Clear, concise communicator with excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in evidence-based decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating and validating complex engineered systems — whether through simulated scenario development, real-world testing, or both.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in ML, Computer Vision, Motion Planning, or Data Science.
  • Experience in the Automotive or AV industries.
  • Experience with SOTIF and safety validation.
  • Skilled in evaluating and validating learned or adaptive behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver validation scenarios to assess driving safety and overall system performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, Data, Simulation, and Autonomy leads to design and implement comprehensive yet efficient test strategies.
  • Help grow and inspire a high-performing team of validation systems engineers.
