About The Position

The Tech Infra Program Manager II at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for developing and managing IT projects from beginning to end. This includes overseeing project scope, timeline, hardware procurement, resource allocation, and project execution while coordinating closely with field teams. The role requires providing project management direction to ensure the project team understands timelines, risks, escalation paths, and their roles and responsibilities. The manager will act as an escalation point for the project team and stakeholders, managing risks and developing mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the position involves owning updates and documentation regarding hardware and equipment standards, proactively managing change control, and communicating impacts on project scope. The manager will also identify and manage project dependencies, maintain accurate project plans, and provide frequent on-site monitoring of installation schedules and vendor quality. The role may require domestic and international travel up to 50%.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in engineering, business administration, or related field and 3 years of experience in job offered or in product/program management related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in engineering, business administration, or related field followed by 5 progressively responsible years of experience in job offered or in product/program management related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience in product/program management.
  • 3 years of experience conducting analysis and performing data mining utilizing tools such as LAN, WAN, Wireless, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Low voltage data cabling, or data facilities technologies.
  • 3 years of experience developing and driving strategic initiatives within a cross-functional environment, involving multiple stakeholders and varying levels of management.
  • 3 years of Technical program management experience working on infrastructure projects of new site or existing site launches from initiation to closure.
  • 3 years of experience in procurement of equipment, Construction, IT, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) infrastructure and service concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage IT projects from beginning to end, including project scope, timeline, hardware procurement, resource allocation, and project execution coordinating remote work closely with field teams.
  • Provide project management and direction to ensure the project team has a clear understanding of timelines, risks, escalation path and roles/responsibilities they will undertake within the project team.
  • Act as an escalation point for the project team and project stakeholders to manage risks, develop mitigation plans and path to green throughout the project.
  • Own updates and knowledge documentation regarding hardware and equipment standards to ensure appropriate hardware standards are met and the correct equipment procured.
  • Proactively manage change control and communicate impact in project scope, identify issues, and devising contingency plans.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths and maintain accurate project plans with real-time milestone, task and project health data for all projects in the PPM tool.
  • Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality, inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures, and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Facilitate formal turn-over with onsite team, support partners and monitor deliverables until agreed upon launch/project milestone is achieved.
  • Update or develop documentation on processes that are critical to successfully implementing projects.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline deployments, share best practices with peers and leaders, and implement continuous improvement actions on a regular basis.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 50% to perform role responsibilities may be required.
