About The Position

The position involves performing shop service and field inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment, including customer portable and fixed fire extinguisher systems, lifesaving and navigation aid equipment, fire detection and alarm system components, fixed gas detection systems, and various fire suppression systems. The role requires troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment issues, completing documentation associated with inspections and repairs, and conducting detailed visual inspections and functional tests. The technician will also conduct pre-job, job update, and post-job completion briefs, train customers and less experienced technicians, assist in facility operations, maintain a clean work area, and perform basic maintenance on assigned vehicles. The position requires operating electronic safety and communication systems and using a wide range of safety equipment. The technician must be trained, authorized, and certified to work both onshore and offshore.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least three years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery, or related industry.
  • Associate's degree in science or technical area preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Good driving record and insurable for company vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to pass internal forklift certification.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for short and long-term projects.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC card and pass required safety testing.
  • State Fire Licenses or NICET Level II testing in three disciplines of fire protection.
