About The Position

The Tech Donor Support position at CSL Plasma involves preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process. The role includes monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms or signals, and disconnecting the donor upon completion. The technician must maintain alertness to any reactions the donor may have and notify appropriate staff. Responsibilities also include using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents during the process, ensuring accurate recording of donor data, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. The position may require bilingual skills and cross-training in other areas as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any reactions the donor may have and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents during the pheresis process using a PDA.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies.
• Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
