About The Position

The Dialysis Technician (CCHT) is responsible for direct patient care. Direct patient care includes performance of Basic hemodialysis techniques and procedures, daily patient care and observations under the direct supervision and guidance of a registered nurse. This position is responsible for assigned water testing. The Dialysis Tech will draw blood samples and prepare them for transport to the laboratory. This position is also responsible for required laboratory tests as well as quality control monitoring. The Dialysis Tech participates in quality improvement activities to maintain patient care standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Bachelor or Associate school of nursing and a current state license to practice nursing.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• One (1) year recent experience as a Dialysis Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist, Surgical Technician, First Responder, EMT, ED Tech or LPN required.
• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to safely operate dialysis machines.
• CMS recognized dialysis technician certification and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic hemodialysis techniques and procedures.
• Provide daily patient care and observations under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Conduct assigned water testing.
• Draw blood samples and prepare them for laboratory transport.
• Perform required laboratory tests and quality control monitoring.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to maintain patient care standards.
