About The Position

Working under general technical guidance, an Electronic Technician II specializes in supporting our network operations center on Nellis AFB. The position works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices through a combination of monitoring, installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction, and testing. Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties: Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties: Serve as the focal point for monitoring our communications infrastructure utilizing monitoring and remote management tools such as Solar Winds. Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data, and test equipment Diagnose equipment malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition Respond to user requests and outage notifications; communicate and coordinate with other functional groups to address and resolve service problems Assist and/or provide occasional work direction to lower-level technicians Perform other job-related duties, as required

Requirements

  • Education and/or training from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory, or a military equivalent and a minimum three years of hands-on experience are required for this position.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification must be able to obtain with six months of hire
  • Comprehensive knowledge in general electronics and device configuration using vendor documentation
  • Demonstrated expertise in electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems and the test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper network equipment configuration preferred
  • Knowledge with VOIP devices and Avaya Phone Systems preferred

Responsibilities
