About The Position

The Technician is responsible to minimize the risk of transmission of infections associated with the use of patient care equipment. This is accomplished through established guidelines of cleaning for each piece of equipment that falls under his/her care. Also responsible for the appropriate storage, functionality testing, tracking, cleaning, disinfection sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment, as well as contacting the appropriate companies to obtain repairs for the equipment, if the Biomedical Department contract does not cover that equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ years related experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Central Service Technician certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Minimize the risk of transmission of infections associated with patient care equipment.
  • Follow established guidelines for cleaning each piece of equipment.
  • Ensure appropriate storage and functionality testing of equipment.
  • Track, clean, disinfect, sterilize, and dispose of equipment as necessary.
  • Contact appropriate companies for equipment repairs not covered by the Biomedical Department contract.
