The Technician is responsible to minimize the risk of transmission of infections associated with the use of patient care equipment. This is accomplished through established guidelines of cleaning for each piece of equipment that falls under his/her care. Also responsible for the appropriate storage, functionality testing, tracking, cleaning, disinfection sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment, as well as contacting the appropriate companies to obtain repairs for the equipment, if the Biomedical Department contract does not cover that equipment.
