Your leadership will ensure critical technology projects help more Montanans access meaningful work and support the economic health of our communities The Tech and Training Team Supervisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the mission of the Workforce Services Division by leading a team of business analysts in translating organizational needs into effective IT solutions, overseeing critical business process analyses, and coordinating system development efforts. This supervisory position ensures projects such as EmployMT and WOTC are delivered efficiently by prioritizing technical enhancements, guiding process improvements, and fostering cross-team collaboration to maximize system effectiveness. The supervisor's expertise in managing continuous improvement and aligning technical initiatives with division goals is essential to maintaining high-quality workforce program outcomes for Montanans.

Requirements

  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate and present information to differing audiences, demonstrating strong written and visual presentation skills to both internal and external audiences.
  • Project management: Demonstrated skills and experience in project management in technical and business processes, including understanding how to gather business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Problem-solving: Understand problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Business Analysis: Ability to detail and visualize a business process from start to finish and experience with concepts of continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work across teams with conflicting needs to understand processes and identify consensus solutions.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management: Ability to meet deadlines, track, and process correspondence/documents from multiple sources while adapting to evolving project scopes.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to guide and support a team of business analysts to grow skills and deliver results.
  • Public Speaking: Ability to deliver information effectively through presentations and public speaking, engaging and communicating effectively with a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in a business analysis role, identifying solutions to design and implement technical system updates and improve business processes through continuous improvement strategies.
  • Proven supervisory or managerial capacity, including performance management and team development responsibilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills, showing the ability to work effectively across teams and bridge gaps in communication.
  • Proficiency with technology systems, experience working with ServiceNow or Snowflake is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting information to a variety of audiences, including system demonstrations and training as well as proposing solutions to leadership.
  • A degree in business management, IT, data, or a closely related field may supplement relevant professional experience but is not a substitute for demonstrated skills and competencies in the areas noted above. Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with technology systems, experience working with ServiceNow or Snowflake is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and document business processes, develop training tools, and identify cross-program overlaps by engaging with teams across the division.
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of business analysts who translate business needs into technical requirements for IT infrastructure, ensuring activities contribute to organizational objectives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and track development work requests with guidance from leadership to ensure all stakeholders' needs are met in IT system development.
  • Research, analyze, and propose solutions for technical issues or new work processes presented to the Division.
  • Mentor business analyst staff on the assessment and prioritization of IT change requests.
