About The Position

Vein Centers of CT is a highly regarded practice that prides itself in providing the highest quality of care in diagnosing and treating varicose veins and spider veins. We are seeking a Per Diem Tech Aide to work in our Bristol and Wallingford Locations. Position Schedule: on-call, as needed (weekday shifts, M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). Compensation: MRA offers competitive starting compensation based on qualifications and experience. The starting rate for this position is between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour. JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of an advanced practitioner, assists in new patient consultations, follow up visits, and venous and aesthetic related procedures. Follows established policies and procedures set by the Vein Centers of CT, State of CT, and OSHA. The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge applicable to vein diseases with specific reference to anatomy, medical and surgical disease and scientific principles as applied to vein center operations.
  • Patients care standards and requirements.
  • Quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • OSHA principles and practices.
  • Organize and monitor patient flow to meet company productivity, quality, health and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and vein center staff.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
  • Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with required workloads.
  • Read, interpret and follow internal quality standards and government regulations.
  • Understand and follow specifications and instructions.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent movement between exam rooms, equipment areas, and patient care spaces.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, or stoop as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move patients, equipment, and supplies up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Assisting technologists with patient positioning and transfers.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for fine motor tasks such as operating imaging equipment, adjusting settings, and handling small tools.
  • Precise hand-eye coordination to assist in positioning patients safely.
  • Good visual acuity to monitor patients, read digital screens, and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, contrasts, and details on imaging equipment.
  • Clear hearing to communicate with patients, technologists, and medical staff effectively.
  • Exposure to chemicals and bodily fluids (must wear proper protective equipment).
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication skills to assist patients and work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Capacity to handle emergency situations and respond quickly.
  • OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year’s experience in a medical or surgical office or hospital is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect equipment and area after diagnostic studies as well as procedures.
  • Maintain examination and work areas in an orderly manner.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
  • Meets the needs of patients with regard to the patient’s age, condition or other special requirements.
  • Accurately inputs data in the ultrasound equipment before, during, and after diagnostic studies and procedures.
  • Possess computer skills appropriate to meet departmental needs in preparation of reports and correspondence.
  • Works effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
