About The Position
The primary responsibilities of this role, DEKALB/Asgrow Tech Agronomist IV-Central and West Central Iowa, are to plan and execute field scale testing programs; collaborate with Seed Dealers/growers to plant trials, collect required data, maintain and harvest trials; provide technical support and training for seed dealers and Bayer squad; and communicate agronomic value of seed and crop protection products. The role also involves creating an Agronomy Plan for alignment with the squad, building presence and credibility with key growers, seed dealers, crop consultants and other key 3rd party stakeholders, and planning and executing tactics to support identified business strategies and objectives. Strong leadership in local portfolio management and future year forecasting is essential, as well as recommending and leading new regional projects that drive the business. The position requires evaluating new products thoroughly each season to drive future year forecasting and market positioning strategy, driving collaboration and communication between Agronomic Services, Breeding, & Product Teams, and assuming challenging assignments outside of standard work/team responsibilities. Compliance with Bayer safety and vehicle safety policies is mandatory, along with product stewardship and use recommendations for the local territory. The role requires approximately 60% travel with significant daily face-to-face customer interaction.
