About The Position

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for company's birds in regards to the proper care and comfort. Duties would include but are not limited to advising producers regarding building and equipment specifications litter manipulation and farm sanitation farm visits to include documenting bird comfort management of the flock and equipment settings directing feed and light schedules monitoring bird health egg production body weight and conformation and providing remedy when possible monitoring feed consumption pulling blood and fat samples on time when required coordinating bird placements to the farms and helping with catch schedules and ensuring communication between hatchery feedmill vaccination crews and livehaul as it pertains to their contract farms and in all areas insuring producer and company are in compliance with the production contract so as to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost due to good performance and for ensuring all USDA and other government regulations are followed when handling poultry. Other duties might include working with the Broiler and Breeder Hatchery Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements. This position may also supervise Tech 1 positions and or be expected to lead meetings with tech advisors and or grower meetings coordinate breeder complex activities regarding ammonia control agent application or pesticide applications coordinate litter hauling schedules or composting schedules by contractors coordinate vaccination crew schedules and perform other responsibilities as the need arises and as directed by the breeder manager.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 3 plus years of relevant experience
  • Computer Skills: Elementary computer skills such as checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.
  • Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.

  • Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America)

Responsibilities

  • Advising producers regarding building and equipment specifications
