About The Position

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for company's birds in regards to the proper care and comfort. The role involves advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation. It also includes conducting farm visits to document bird comfort, manage flocks, and adjust equipment settings. The Tech Advisor will direct feed and light schedules, monitor bird health, egg production, body weight, and conformation, providing remedies when possible. Other duties include monitoring feed consumption, pulling blood and fat samples on time when required, coordinating bird placements to the farms, and helping with catch schedules. The role ensures communication between the hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul as it pertains to their contract farms. The Tech Advisor is also responsible for ensuring producer and company compliance with the production contract to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost due to good performance, and for ensuring all USDA and other government regulations are followed when handling poultry.

Requirements

  • 1 plus year of relevant experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to travel 1 to 5 trips per year.
