About The Position

The Team Support role within the Commercial Enablement team at National Grid involves providing general administrative support, managing finance control, and coordinating team activities. This diverse position requires interaction with various stakeholders and entails tasks such as producing supply chain plans, processing invoices, and making travel arrangements. The role demands excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • Good general computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above in English and Maths OR Functional Skills Level 2 or above.
  • Experience in financial management is beneficial.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in administrative support roles.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Production, updating and monitoring of supply chain plans for centrally managed works.
  • Interaction with contractors and supply chain partners to support resolution of issues.
  • Develop and issue Work Instructions for centrally managed works.
  • Creation, maintenance and monitoring of project finances and budgets for centrally managed works.
  • Creation and maintenance of commercial process and policy documentation.
  • Resolve customer queries directly, wherever possible.
  • Processing of invoices for approval and payment associated particularly with fees from external suppliers and agents and contract staff working for the team.
  • Administrative support to team including travel, accommodation and other arrangements.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in performance and implement or recommend change.
  • Identify and request physical resources to improve individual or team performance.
