About The Position

The position involves the complete assembly of automotive seating units while adhering to safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The role requires performing line assembly and support operations to mass produce automotive seating units according to specifications. Employees will build parts as per the Operator Description Sheets and develop proficiency in all production job functions, rotating through various workstations within the job cell. The position also includes monitoring production material quantities, reporting shortages, and ensuring proper workflow by restocking work areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or carry seating components frequently (Lift assist devices are provided).
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to incorporate safe working procedures into daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assembly of automotive seating units while maintaining good housekeeping, safety, quality and efficiency standards.
  • Perform line assembly and/or support operations to mass produce automotive seating units in accordance with specifications.
  • Build parts in a specified manner according to the Operator Description Sheets.
  • Develop proficiency in all production job functions and rotate in job cell into various work stations.
  • Control processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Restock work areas as needed to ensure proper work flow.
  • Monitor production material quantities and report shortages.
  • Complete assembly of quality seating units.
  • Walk, stand, reach, lift, bend, pull, push to move product through build process.
  • Use hand-held pneumatic tools, torque guns, ergonomic arms and other equipment to perform operations on the assembly line.
  • Bolt, clip, screw, or otherwise fasten parts together.
  • Operate assembly fixtures.
  • Problem solve workplace issues.
  • Conduct quality inspections of work in progress.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure on-time quality product to customers (internal and external).
  • Incorporate safe working procedures into all daily activities in and around facility.
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Comply with company rules, policies, and practices.
  • Attend and participate in regular plant and group meetings and activities, including regular exercise/stretching.
  • Perform any and all other tasks as assigned by any member of management.
  • Have the authority and responsibility to stop the production line should a safety or quality issue appear.
