About The Position

The Team Member Relations Manager provides leadership and strategic guidance on employee relations matters across the organization. This position ensures fair, consistent, and compliant resolution of workplace concerns while partnering with leaders to strengthen trust and accountability. The Manager conducts investigations, facilitates conflict resolution, advises on policy application, and identifies systemic trends to improve the workplace environment. This role supports the organization's commitment to Kalispel hospitality and Tribal values through proactive employee relations practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Four (4) years of progressive HR experience, with substantial employee relations responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relation cases.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, investigation techniques, and employee relations best practice.
  • Excelled judgment and decision-making skills with ability to navigate sensitive confidential matters.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and build trust across all organizational levels.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, mediation, and coaching managers through difficult conversations.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to identify trends and develop data-informed recommendations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HCM systems.
  • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and fair while advocating for organizational values.
  • Responsible for maintaining consistent, regular good attendance.
  • Obtain and maintain Kalispel Tribal Gaming License.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally out of state.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification (SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR) is strongly preferred.
  • Two (2) years in management or senior-level employee relations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into policy violations, complaints, harassment allegations, and workplace concerns with discretion and thoroughness.
  • Facilitate resolution of team member grievances through mediation, conflict coaching, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Conduct Internal Review Board (IRB) hearings and ensure timely, fair resolution of team member appeals.
  • Partner with leadership to address employee relations trends and recommend preventive strategies and system-level improvements.
  • Advise managers on interpretation and consistent application of policies, including the Standard Rules of Conduct and corrective action processes.
  • Monitor implementation of employment policies to ensure compliance with Tribal Code, gaming regulations, and federal/state employment laws.
  • Develop and deliver training for supervisors and managers on employee relations topics, including performance management, harassment prevention, and effective documentation.
  • Provide consultation to senior leadership on complex employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and risk mitigation.
  • Analyze employee relations data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for workplace culture improvement.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Talent Management teams to support retention, onboarding, and culture initiatives.
  • Work alongside the Talent Development and Kalispel Hospitality Departments to support employee engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Draft supplemental agreements, letters of understanding, and executive summaries as needed.
  • Represent the organization in unemployment hearings and coordinate responses to legal inquiries.
  • Oversee Employee Assistance Program (EAP) administration and promote utilization across the organization.
  • Coordinate random drug testing programs and reasonable suspicion testing in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case management records for all employee relations matters.
  • Research employment law developments and advise leadership on implications for policies and practices.
  • Champion Kalispel hospitality standards and organizational core values in all employee interactions.
  • Facilitate focus groups and listening sessions to gather team member feedback and ensure follow-up.
  • Work alongside the Talent Development and Kalispel Hospitality Departments to enhance team member experience and workplace culture.
  • Build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization through transparent, respectful communication.
  • Supervise Team Member Relation Specialist.
  • Responsible for training, coaching, evaluating, and developing direct report(s).
  • Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Tribal Code, gaming regulations, and organizational policies.
