About The Position

The Team Manager-Production at Ford Motor Company is responsible for overseeing production teams to ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met. This role involves coaching employees, managing production processes, and implementing standardized work practices to maintain a smooth and efficient production line. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and empower team members while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with Microsoft including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership skills to lead, empower, and develop salary and hourly employees
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Production, Maintenance and/or Quality experience

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in the automotive industry
  • Six Sigma/LEAN experience

Responsibilities

  • Coach safety, quality, and productivity teams to ensure objectives are met through the development of and adherence to standardized work.
  • Ensure that the production line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts through process confirmation and building worker accountability.
  • Teach, confirm, and ensure adherence to all Plant Operating Systems.
  • Responsible for the training and implementation of production work teams.
  • Manage yard campaigns and reduce plant inventory levels.
  • Drive the Manage the Change (MTC) process and ensure compliance to process while communicating changes to Team Members.
  • Develop relationships with other areas to achieve business results and resolve issues at the floor level.
  • Ensure training gaps are identified and plans implemented to achieve versatility requirements.
  • Strategic planning and coordination of Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) activities to achieve Safety, Quality, and Productivity objectives.
  • Drive and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PMs) processes and ensure all safety standards are met during all production activities.
  • Assist in addressing equipment down time issues and support problem solving activities within the department, focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Team on production line releases and repair activities.
  • Work flexible hours that may include nights, weekends, and overtime.
