You will also implement procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. These improvements will enhance Safety, Quality, and Productivity in the department you lead. You will report to the Manager of Component Operations and be located at Columbia, SC. You will work 100% onsite for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience
  • 3 years management experience
  • Manufacturing experience

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years as a manager or supervisor in a manufacturing and a production facility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and communicate department resources to achieve successful use of employees, equipment, and material.
  • Assure personnel compliance to safety, regulatory, and quality requirements. Monitor personnel and area to observe unfavorable trends through use of Visual Management and observations. Communicate discrepancies and solicit support.
  • Determine task performance/skill requirements. Evaluate employee skill levels through use of the training skills matrixes, focus training plans on deficiencies, and promote employee development.
  • Create area metrics concerning activities of assigned department.
  • Through standardized huddle meetings, area learning clocks and visual management, communicate and strengthen goals and the performance of the area including any changes to policies.
  • Maintain established employee relations policies and safety/health regulations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend pay increases, promotions, transfers, and other personnel actions. Interview job candidates and make hiring decisions to fill any open positions.
  • Retain expertise to evaluate personnel and monitor area performance. Apply knowledge to production or equipment issues to initiate proper corrective action.
  • Lead improvement projects.
  • Identify process/continuous improvements in assigned department.
