The Amazon Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is seeking for an experienced Team Manager to join our operations to develop, manage, and support our team with speech and language solutions. About the team Amazon strives to be the world’s most customer-centric company, where customers can research and purchase anything they might want online or offline. We set big goals and are looking for people who can help us reach and exceed them. The AGI organization provides speech recognition capabilities for a variety of Amazon products and searches. We provide secure, flexible, cost effective, and high-quality data labeling services to our customers, that enables them to build advanced ML models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or advanced college education or experience in a Leadership or related position with management
  • Basic-level proficiency in English (B1+ or equivalent fluency by Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) standards). (for non english lang/locale combos only)
  • Experience managing a team or a group of people while supporting projects/programs
  • Leadership experience in coaching and performance management
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse talent within a team, work cross-functionally, and build consensus on difficult issues
  • Advanced-level proficiency in multiple languages (C1+ or equivalent fluency by Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) standards).

Responsibilities

  • Manage job assignment on a day-to-day basis, monitoring performance on job or queue adherence, volume, and quality
  • Support hiring and training of new Associates
  • Ensure productivity is maximized through supervision, training, analysis, and feedback of performance data on a periodic basis
  • Develop the work schedule for the week by balancing work across various workflows and/or navigating competing delivery priorities
  • Liaise with Program Management and other global operations team leads to manage risks & propose mitigation strategies
  • Track quality and utilization metrics
  • File and track tickets, following up on blocks to productivity
  • Provide regular, formal & informal feedback to direct reports
  • Identify and help implement process-related improvement using methodologies such as Kaizen, six sigma, or lean
