About The Position

This position is responsible for material handling duties related to receiving shipments, material transportation, inventory/stock management, issuance and disbursement, etc. of parts and materials into production. From the position of giving instructions to material handlers, this position is a driving force of the department. At large, this position is responsible for coordinating related personnel, managing parts, giving instructions, leading Material Handlers, and substituting for material handling vacancies.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Following the instructions of the Manufacturing Support Manager and Supervisor, give detailed instructions to Material Handlers.
  • Work Area: Ensure that the group maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Personnel and Operation Management: Check Material Handlers attendance, make adjustments and evaluate; adjust for vacations and overtime within the department; control operation sheets, standards, and process conditions; confirm that work is being completed within the standard time frame and give instructions to the trainer(s).
  • Reporting and Records: Report all pertinent issues to the Manufacturing Support Manager; confirm that all pertinent information and conditions are correctly transmitted to the next shift and related personnel and give instructions, in kind; as need be, make and manage documentation.
  • Receiving: Receive all materials and auxiliary materials supplied externally. For material that has been received, quickly deliver to the party who requested it. When the actual items and invoices have unclear information or mistakes, quickly contact the related parties (Accounting, Purchasing, etc.) and handle the matter.
  • Material Handling and Storing/Retrieving: Transport received material from receiving to the appropriate area. After the material has been transported, input the inventory movement into this system. At this point, reconfirm the record stock quantity with the actual stock quantity. Correct for any discrepancies in the system. Materials should always be easy to retrieve and store so that FIFO can be done.
  • Outsourcing and Warehousing: Receive MO requests for outsourcing from Manufacturing Department and outsource the orders through the system. Confirm that the actual items and MO item and quantity are correct and send out the order(s). Receive processed items and confirm that the item and quantity are correct, then closeout the order.
  • Shipping: Ship from TMA to the TMADC. Confirm packed products with the MO (that there are no mistakes with the quantity or model type) and process the shipment in the system. If there is something unidentified or incomplete, contact the appropriate personnel (Scheduler, Manufacturing Department, TMADC, etc.) to resolve the matter.
  • Closing-Out Manufacturing Orders: Once shipping is complete, closeout the MO in the system.
  • Pulling Material and Disbursements: Receive the MO from the Manufacturing Scheduler, pull the appropriate material from inventory (racks, areas), and indicate that they were pulled into the system. Confirm that the given materials are the same item as the MO and disburse into production.
  • Parts Issuance: Receive issuance request sheets from Manufacturing Department, pull the appropriate material from inventory (racks, areas), and indicate that they were pulled into the system. Confirm that the given materials are the same item as the Issuance Request and issue to the section that requested the material.
  • Necessary Auxiliary Material Arrangements: Periodically check packing boxes and pallet stock. Request for orders of the necessary items from purchasing.
  • Discarding: Periodically move sludge, waste oil, waste coolant, waste pallets, trash, etc. to the assigned storage area.
  • Scrap System Handling: For scrap item requests from Quality Assurance, scrap material in the system (dispose of from inventory).
  • Inventory Results Confirmation: When inventory is taken, get the confirmation sheets from Accounting and in the event there is something wrong with the actual items and the confirmation sheets, inform that to Accounting.
  • Troubleshooting: For the daily occurrence of various problems, consult with the Manufacturing Support Manager and related personnel to resolve the problems.
  • Training: When training of new members, etc. is required, create a training schedule and conduct that training; record training results.
  • Improvements: From the perspective of observing delivery dates, reducing costs and making daily improvements to quality, always make attempts to make improvements within the department.
