Division/Program Summary: The Office of School Health (OSH) is a joint program of the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene responsible for promoting the health of 1.3 million school aged children enrolled in approximately 1,800 public and non-public schools in New York City. This is achieved through a combination of public health initiatives, case management, education, and direct clinical services. Asthma Case Management Program (ACMP) is a comprehensive school-based initiative embedded in the OSH Medical Unit that provides individualized care coordination, education, and follow-up for students with uncontrolled asthma. The program partners with families, school staff, and community healthcare providers to reduce asthma-related emergencies, improve daily symptom control, and support student attendance and academic success. Position Summary: Under general direction of the Special Consultant level 2, the Special Consultant will be expected to provide case management consultation, support and supervision to the case workers and program evaluation specialist assigned to high-risk students with asthma in the Bronx.
