MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Current Speech-Language Pathologist licensure in the state where services will be provided: MD: Speech Language Pathologist License through Maryland Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers and Speech-Language Pathologists OH: Speech Pathologists License through Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board PA: Speech Language Pathologist License through Pennsylvania Board of Examiners in Speech Language and Hearing WV: Speech Language Pathologist License through the West Virginia Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology 2. Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) 3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. EXPERIENCE: 1. Coordinates daily workflow, staff assignments and staffing schedules with designated leader. 2. Provides feedback on staff performance and provides input for evaluations. 3. Performs treatments according to the established plan, utilizing appropriate procedures, equipment and techniques within the scope of Speech Pathology. 4. Examines the patient/client through history, systems review and tests and measures upon referral from the referring provider. Plans appropriate treatment based upon the referral and the evaluation; establishes goals, methods of treatment and the patient’s potential. 5. Participates with Director with interviewing and selecting staff. Assist with department training and orientation. 6. Documents in the medical records according to established criteria, including initial evaluations, progress reports and discharge summaries. 7. Develops measurable and realistic goals that are in accordance with the diagnosis, prognosis and findings. 8. Educates the patients and/or caregivers about findings of the evaluations established goals, methods of treatment and the patients and/or family members in home programs including injury preventions and the use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment and orthotics and prosthetics. 9. Helps staff trouble shoot problems pertaining to direct patient care – inpatient and outpatient. 10. Designs care plans based upon evaluation using appropriate treatment techniques, speech and language skills as they relate to age, educational, medical, social and psychological factors and current evaluation and treatment methodology. Heavy/Hard work: Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs. 3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
