The Ideal team member maintains the team’s goals by working collaboratively with Group Leaders and Team Members to drive continuous improvement. This position works collaboratively with Group Leader and Team Members to ensure quality concerns are identified and escalated according to the company’s quality process, ensuring highest quality products are delivered to internal and external customers. This Team Lead consistently acts and behaves in a manner that supports a team-focused organization, effectively working to manage safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale. The Team Leader helps facilitate the work activities of the department and ensures that work activities are being performed according to policy, procedure and process. Team Leaders help to ensure that safety, quality and productivity requirements are being achieved by: First line of support to team members when abnormal conditions exist Escalating issues so that appropriate resources are involved when abnormalities occur, Ensure continuity of operations by filling in for team members when necessary (absenteeism, break periods, etc.) Working on continuous improvement projects Oversees personnel that are loading and unloading trucks, verifying counts, inspecting for damaged packaging, Ensure safe operation of equipment by team members Train team members’ on various processes, procedures and job tasks within their work zone Certify team members’ on individual workstations to satisfy each level of progression on the skills matrix Track and communicate status for inbound/outbound truck schedules. Constant communication with supervisor and fork lift drivers. Verify EDI requirements and setup/manage loads Lead and assist shipping personnel as needed Spot check the labeling of staged containers throughout the day. Enforce FIFO procedures that are set in place Understand and follow plant rules including proper dress, hair and cell phone usage. Responsible for performing incidental work activities associated with all job functions within the department / work area Responsible for providing relief to production team members for scheduled or emergency breaks / lunch periods. May required to perform work normally assigned to production operators and / or hilo drivers to cover absenteeism / labor shortage.
