About The Position

The Team Leader, Pharmacy Supply Chain at UPMC is responsible for overseeing the distribution of pharmaceuticals and supplies within the pharmacy supply chain. This role involves ensuring effective communication with department user groups, maintaining quality standards, and managing a team of warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations. The position operates during daylight hours, Monday to Friday, and does not require weekend work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or a 4-year college degree from an accredited university.
  • Preferred at least one-year previous supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Must be able to effectively manage a shift of hourly employees ranging in ability.
  • Must be able to communicate and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Work history must have evidence of dependability.
  • Job requires individual with no work limitations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy lift equipment at heights above 25 feet.
  • Direct use of a laptop computer operating a Management Service Console.
  • Ensure quality at the end line staging area as a dock master effectively directing product to its final destination.
  • Direct use of ERP based system to adjust dollar value and quantities of inventory.
  • Continue to act as a distribution member in all aspects of the distribution function.
  • Ensure that all distribution equipment is properly maintained.
  • Successfully complete all equipment/safety training yearly or as required by the distribution center supervisor.
  • Assist in the evaluation, discipline, and development of the warehouse staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the department's inventory platform.
  • Assign work to each shift employee and monitor completion of assigned duties.
  • Maintain awareness of any change in department/hospital policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain communication and organizational skills essential for the efficient operation of the Materials Management department.
  • Responsible for training new staff on all company policy and procedures.
  • Ensure staff fill all pharmacy requisitions following DSCSA with proper technique utilizing packaging and shipping products while maintaining JIRA ticket errors less than 20% yearly.
  • Provide direction to each team member ensuring cleanliness standards are upheld within the warehouse per DEA, FDA and OHSA regulations.
  • Actively participate towards maintaining the overall KPIs through productivity, reduction in overtime, and best safety practices.
  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
