About The Position

The Team Leader Patient Transport role is responsibility for the routine daily operations of Patient Transport under the supervision of the Operations Manager, Environmental Services. Responsible for training, distributing work assignments and prioritizing work, investigating and documenting concerns and/or inappropriate actions inter- and intra-departmentally. Transports patients - to and from various areas within the confines of the hospital. Receive assignments Proceed to area of assignment Obtain patient's chart Transport patient to correct destination utilizing appropriate equipment such as wheelchairs, carts and IV poles. Fill and transport oxygen tanks. Transport empty oxygen tanks to designated refill stations. Transport full oxygen tanks with or without a patient.

Requirements

High school education.
Some prior experience or training required.
CPR Certification required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Supervises and scheduling employees in the positions of Patient Transporter and DSS Patient Transporter
Assesses departmental activities and requirements by making rounds.
Initiates or delegates completion of incident reports for shift.
Transports patients - to and from various areas within the confines of the hospital.
Receive assignments
Proceed to area of assignment
Obtain patient's chart
Transport patient to correct destination utilizing appropriate equipment such as wheelchairs, carts and IV poles.
Fill and transport oxygen tanks.
Transport empty oxygen tanks to designated refill stations.
Transport full oxygen tanks with or without a patient.
