About The Position

The Team Leader for the Overnight Fresh Kitchen at Publix is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the team, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and promoting quality and food safety standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to learn and perform all positions in the department.
  • Understanding of plant policies, practices, procedures, and requirements.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and follow through on assignments.
  • Must obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift.
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel for specialized training.
  • High level of maturity, discretion, tact, and judgment.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ability to use industrial strength chemicals.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Demonstrate excellent work habits in line with GMPs.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily tasks alongside associates on the floor.
  • Cover for unplanned absences and vacations.
  • Maintain and understand all department reports and procedures.
  • Coordinate breaks and lunch schedules for team members.
  • Oversee maintenance of equipment, including PMs and work orders.
  • Assist managers with scheduling associates.
  • Understand production requirements and execute department needs.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Promote and enforce quality and food safety standards.
  • Serve as a role model for associates.
  • Plan and conduct job skill training for associates, including writing Skill Breakdown Sheets (SBSs) and conducting Job Instruction Training (JIT).
  • Lead and drive improvements in plant operations.
  • Analyze and understand KPIs and data.
  • Perform day-to-day tasks of the Department Manager/Assistant Department Manager in their absence, including production scheduling and planning.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
