About The Position

Under supervision of the Mail Room Supervisor, the Team Leader ensures the daily operation of the mailroom and provides general mail services to all departments within the facility. The Team Leader also assists with the oversight of the Lawrence Mail Center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years previous mailroom experience required.
  • Ability to lift packages up to 70 pounds.
  • Computer skills required including Microsoft Office and e-mail.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Open the mailroom each morning and prepare for daily service.
  • Deliver incoming mail and packages to all Lawrence departments and the Distribution Center, pick up mail from the Post Office daily, act as the primary contact for DHL, UPS, FedEx, and USPS to resolve service issues. Schedule courier services for urgent or critical deliveries.
  • Maintain the physical security of the mailroom.
  • Provide prompt and professional customer service to internal departments.
  • Train new coordinators in all aspects of mailroom operations.
  • Schedule daily tasks based on departmental priorities, assist the Mailroom Supervisor with earned time off scheduling and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Oversee international sample deconsolidation/consolidation between Lawrence and Boston locations, optimizing turnaround times.
  • Provide staffing support for the Boston Mailroom as needed.
  • Operate mailing equipment; manage postage funds and generate monthly usage reports for Finance.
  • Maintain company vehicles, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and up-to-date inspection stickers.
  • Order and distribute copy paper, envelopes, and letterhead for all Lawrence departments.
  • Monitor mailroom supply levels and create purchase orders as needed.
