About The Position

The Transportation Attendant is responsible for transporting patients to and from the nursing units, other hospital departments, physicians' offices, and designated discharge areas. This role involves performing patient transfers or repositioning under the supervision of the nursing staff, utilizing appropriate patient lifting equipment. Additionally, the Transportation Attendant is responsible for the maintenance and inventory of patient lifting equipment and ensuring proper hygiene of the slings. The position may also involve assisting with employee education and training on patient lifting equipment and transfer techniques when indicated.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
