About The Position

The Team Leader for the 1st Shift in Common Carrier is responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the activities of production and operating workers, including inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators. This role involves providing operational support services and sometimes acting as the first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area, utilizing existing systems and protocols. The Team Leader will operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity, and will also be responsible for generating solutions to complex inefficiencies.

Requirements

• Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on planning, organizing, prioritizing, and overseeing activities.
• Uses clear and effective verbal communication skills without supervision.
• Manages and applies safe systems of work without supervision.
• Works independently while guiding and training others on optimizing the utilization of production plant, equipment, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area.
• Operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity.
• Contribute data and information to production plans; run reports, check accuracy, and distribute information.
• Lead a team performing routine work; conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures.
• Follow the organization's EHS policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
• Ensure work is completed to the required standards of productivity, quality, and timeliness.
• Provide instruction and informal advice to less experienced colleagues within the team.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and relevant regulatory codes.
