Novelis in Uhrichsville is seeking an Associate Maintenance Leader responsible for leading the safe, efficient and continuous improvement of operations within maintenance functions, managing and developing employees, and meeting all key business objectives as set forth by the company. This entails safely producing the short-term plan, making important policy and strategic decisions, and the development and implementations of operational policies and procedures. Work schedule: 3 on - 3 off rotation 12 hr. shift (5a-5p or 5p-5a). Every two rotations you switch from dayshift to nights.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Be role model for leading and developing a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a team-based management or leadership role.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to work with various levels of the organization.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Computer Software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day manufacturing unit support while ensuring the behavior, equipment and conditions inherent to the process are safe.
  • Effective communication, remaining positive in times of upset conditions.
  • Understanding the budgetary process, inventory usage and control, and the procurement process.
  • Develop & sustain standard work.
  • Implement 6S with process area.
  • Work as Process Owner for pertinent Rapid Improvement Events.
  • Develop employees to effectively build high performing work teams.
  • Set expectations for the team and address training needs.
  • Use & coach the use of structured methods of problem solving (A3s, 5-whys, etc).
  • Evaluate performance and provide feedback.
  • Coach and mentor hourly production personnel through the skill assessment process.
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed to product specifications, and quality metrics meet customers' needs.
  • Perform root cause analysis with the involvement of operators on all quality issues and resolve.
  • Encourage and promote process, product and equipment development to contribute to maintenance or improvement of profits and minimization of operating costs.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting encounters that impact production requirements from revised schedules and/or equipment failures, start-up of new equipment and development of new products and processes.
  • Help establish and implement maintenance, operational, and capital budgets along with performance objectives, development plans, goals and programs to contribute to maximization of return on investment of the unit.
  • Administers Guthrie and Corporate practices and policies uniformly to ensure equal treatment of all employees and conformity with other departments.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Business Systems.
  • Complete administrative processes including: inputting and / or verifying payroll records, verifying time and attendance reports, and summarizing shift results.
