About The Position

Warner Electric is looking for our next Team Leader to lead our Material Handler group for our 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm) operations. Our Team Leaders have a direct impact on our safety, culture, workplace organization, internal and external quality, on-time delivery, productivity and inventory. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented; operate industrial trucks (sit and stand), hoists, tuggers and pallet jacks; develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and must have the ability and willingness to train others.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous leadership and manufacturing experience.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPS, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods.
• Post-secondary education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all activities relating to production performance.
• Coordinate activities of material associates and guide our people in their development.
• Continually improve safety record with a proactive approach to physical safety issues and employee safety behavior.
• Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
• Collaborate, develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing processes.
• Lead communication between members of the team, shifts and production cells.
• Operate industrial trucks (sit and stand), hoists, tuggers and pallet jacks to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, cleans work area, prepares all skids for shipment, stocks production cells and keeps supplies on the production floor orderly.
