About The Position

The position involves various essential functions aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of assembly lines. Responsibilities include replacing assembly operators in their absence, assisting on assembly lines, reporting abnormal conditions, conducting worker observations, and recording skill levels of subordinates. The role also requires constructing line balance and Yamazumi charts to enhance line efficiency, accurately reporting production metrics, and conducting preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. Additionally, the position may require travel to customer locations and coordination of Change Point Control documentation. The individual will be responsible for conducting 5S practices, training new team members, rotating staffing for comprehensive training, and developing Kaizen ideas to support continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to understand basic calculations with or without a calculator
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing area (Throttle Body, Fuel Pump/IACV, Canister, Die Cast, Machining) and its products
  • Basic computing skills, including ability to manipulate data in Microsoft Excel, IBM Notes, and AS400
  • Ability to make charts and graphs
  • Good math skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledgeable of 5S practices and principles
  • Able to develop and execute Jishuken activities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly recognize problems
  • Ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts
  • Good understanding of the assembly lines
  • Ability to run lines efficiently and understand quality and facility checks

Responsibilities

  • Replace assembly operators in their absence on production lines
  • Assist on assembly lines to assure smooth running of lines
  • Report abnormal conditions to group leader and supervisor
  • Conduct worker observation of team members to ensure adequate training
  • Record skill level of subordinates on MFWTT
  • Construct line balance and Yamazumi charts to increase line efficiency
  • Accurately report production, in-process defects, and scrap information
  • Conduct preventative maintenance of assigned assembly equipment
  • Travel to customer location if needed
  • Coordinate and document Change Point Control
  • Check data entry of Quality and Facility Checks and confirm by signature
  • Inform superior of abnormal conditions immediately
  • Conduct 5S of assigned work area and teach to team members
  • Train new team members on shift for extended periods of time
  • Rotate staffing for complete training of all operators
  • Develop Kaizen ideas
  • Perform Kaizen activity on assembly line
  • Complete daily reports and charting
  • Train operators to standardized work
  • Responsible for quality and safety of assembly line
  • Develop and support continuous improvement activities and improve company measurables
  • Understand process and run the assembly equipment
  • Audit standardized work (Audit Plans, Use Check Sheet)
