Why This Role Matters The Team Leader – Janitor ensures custodial services are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with government contract requirements. This role provides daily leadership, supports employees with disabilities, and ensures quality, safety, and customer satisfaction across assigned areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year of commercial custodial or maintenance experience.
  • Six (6) months of prior leadership experience.
  • Have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Didlake's automobile policy. Requirements include but are not limited to a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving and being at least 25 years old.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to obtain required background credentials.
  • Access to the work site for this position requires a valid Real ID.
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning products, supplies, and floor care equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain electrical and battery-powered floor machines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to direct daily work activities and interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
  • Basic math and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assign daily custodial work for assigned routes or areas.
  • Train employees on safety practices, equipment use, and Custodial SOPs.
  • Issue and control supplies and equipment; submit routine supply requests.
  • Inspect completed work, perform quality control inspections, and document results in CleanTelligent.
  • Complete Daily Work Reports and communicate with management and facility representatives.
  • Operate and perform preventive maintenance on floor care equipment.
  • Address employee or customer concerns and escalate as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE use, and contract requirements.
  • Support individual program plans in coordination with Rehabilitation staff.
  • Provide positive leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).
