About The Position

The Team Leader at New Hope of Indiana is responsible for supervising a group home, ensuring the well-being and development of residents with developmental disabilities. This role involves training and mentoring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), advocating for residents' needs, and maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including on-call responsibilities, and emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of work experience working with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Proof of current auto insurance
  • Willingness to use personal vehicle to transport individuals as needed
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, train, and develop Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assigned to the group home.
  • Collaborate with residents, their families, and internal/external partners to address questions and concerns.
  • Advocate for residents to ensure their medical, emotional, and safety needs are met.
  • Maintain residents' finances and funding.
  • Write goals and mentor DSP staff to achieve progress.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergencies.
  • Ensure appropriate shift coverage at the group home sites.
  • Collaborate with HR to interview, select, evaluate, and manage the disciplinary process for subordinate associates.
