About The Position

Job Summary Provide oversight of the Plant process and silt water system. Build and provide tools, processes, training, and implementation support to assist facility personnel manage legal/regulatory obligations and Lamb Weston environmental program requirements. Function as a subject matter expert and system administrator for the Waste Treatment area. Participate in the Environmental audit and corrective action processes to assure continuous compliance and improve EHS performance. Job Description Daily operation and maintenance of the waste treatment area and equipment associated with it Coordination/scheduling of sample collection and analysis Shipment/collection of samples and compilation of data Monitor daily/monthly effluent discharges and limits per permit Be a champion for daily water usage Track and log data regarding water quality Be responsible for monitoring and coordinating 5S in storm drain areas Coordination/scheduling with contractor required activities (i.e. for required sampling, chemical orders) Interaction with operators to assure wastewater compliance requirements. Assist Environmental Manager, as necessary. Participate in Sustainable Development Program Participate and help coordinate input into metrics tracking system Support Environmental Program Management Ensure monitoring and tracking is up to date Participate in implementation of investigations and corrective actions from environmental events Participate in capital planning process to ensure environmental components are covered

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Engineering, Biology or Chemistry)
  • 0 - 3 years progressive experience in the environmental/wastewater field
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and their impact on the food industry
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Understanding of waste treatment system
  • Computer (MS Work, Excel, etc.) capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable of operational practices for environmental control systems on water supply, wastewater, air pollution and solid waste.
  • Understanding of food processing sanitation and quality control needs in manufacturing consumer food products.
  • Ability to work in office environment, manufacturing operations.
  • Moderate weightlifting as required to complete tasks.
  • Good communication skills to train and work with team members of other departments
  • Be able to cover 12 hour shifts if needed and flexibility to work with day and night crew

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
