About The Position

The Distribution Team Leader provides crew leadership and participates in the installation, maintenance, and repairs of the City's water system; however, sewer/stormwater system work is included. Key skills include utility construction/pipe-laying, overseeing heavy equipment (backhoe, dump truck, vacuum trailers, valve machines, etc.) operation, other specialized tools and equipment, and performing other maintenance work as required. The Distribution Team Leader works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. The Distribution Team Leader will lead a team during daily activities or may work independently. The Distribution Team Leader will lead a week-long spot on the on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five (5) years of experience in heavy equipment operation, water/sewer/stormwater system maintenance, and/or utility construction/pipe laying.
• Distributions certification level 'D' or ability to obtain one within one (1) year.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license.

Responsibilities
