About The Position

If you are a team player with a passion to drive your career in Bridge Design, Popli Design Group (PDG) is the place for you! PDG is seeking a Team Leader to add to our growing and talented Bridge Design team. As a Team Leader specializing in Bridge design, your role will include managing a team of bridge design staff, managing projects, preparation of proposals, preparing complete project documents for transportation projects; reviewing complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance; and coaching junior staff in the preparation of design calculations, design details, specifications and cost estimates.

Requirements

Possesses advanced knowledge of applicable engineering principals and techniques
Effectively expresses thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing in the English language
Proficient in the use of applicable computer software
Performs assigned tasks accurately and efficiently
Is an active and supportive team member
Understands basic safety requirements
Able to lead multiple projects
Able to manage a team of Bridge Design staff
A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
10 or more years of progressive experience in the field
Professional Engineer (PE)

Responsibilities

Manages a team of Bridge Design staff
Manages Bridge Design projects
Manages the preparation of design calculations and details
Manages the preparation of contract plans and specifications
Manages the preparation of construction cost estimates
Manages the review of construction submittals
Performs occasional field visits to collect data and evaluate existing conditions
Performs occasional field visits to resolve construction issues
Performs oral presentations on technical topics to the public and other engineers
Participates in business development activities
Mentors lower level staff
