About The Position

The position involves coordinating and assisting with activities of associates engaged in maintaining and operating all equipment. The individual will perform various duties including training associates, operating machinery safely, ensuring equipment safety features are functioning, and maintaining accurate records. The role also includes responsibilities related to quality and safety, as well as participation in continual improvement projects for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of manufacturing experience, preferably with Heartland Automotive.
  • Leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Pareto Charts.

Responsibilities

  • Train and assist associates on performing TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) assignments.
  • Perform machine set up, operate machinery safely, and ensure equipment safety features are functioning properly.
  • Record and dispose of scrap accurately and ensure rework is completed timely.
  • Fill in for associates when necessary.
  • Operate and assist individual process stations on all equipment.
  • Perform lock-out and tag-out (LOTO) procedures for clearing equipment faults.
  • Inform Production Manager of any quality/safety non-conformities.
  • Complete paperwork and data entry accurately.
  • Maintain safety and environmental records.
  • Maintain 5S3D, Kaizen, and all elements of SQDCME.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Train associates on adjusting machines and safety processes.
  • Analyze and provide inputs to resolve work problems.
  • Monitor absenteeism and maintain time and production records.
  • Conduct cross-training of associates and maintain performance records.
  • Ensure all associates understand emergency response procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain all TPM Goals (Safety, Scrap, Customer Defects, In-Process Defects, and Downtime Frequency).
  • Support and participate in continual improvement projects for EHS.
