The Team Lead position is responsible for assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in achieving operational, sales, and merchandising goals while providing exceptional customer service. This role promotes a safe and productive work environment and involves training Team Members on policies and procedures.

  • Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with operational, sales, and merchandising objectives.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and promote a safe work environment.
  • Train Team Members on policies and procedures.
  • Execute assigned merchandising activities and perform opening/closing procedures.
  • Transport and make deposits to the bank.
  • Assess store conditions and assign duties to Team Members.
  • Organize and prioritize workflow using a daily planner.
  • Recover merchandise and participate in the freight process.
  • Perform regular and promotional price changes and resolve customer complaints.
  • Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls as needed.
  • Communicate job functions and responsibilities to Team Members.
  • Operate cash register and supervise cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals and maintain holding tanks.
  • Retail experience and/or knowledge of pets/live animals is strongly preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
  • Knowledge of pet/live animal products and services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve issues ethically.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform and execute responsibilities of Team Members.
