At Key, we continually strive to find and fulfill our customers’ growing needs. Key is looking for a Team Lead for our Weld Department. This position assists the Production Manager by ensuring the work is loaded and prioritized per the schedule, that completed work meets established quality standards and that work place rules are being followed. Team Leads also provide standard work training to less experienced welders. While performing this position, you will:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and Five to eight years of related experience as a manager or team lead in a production environment. 1-3 years previous experience providing training to less experienced team members. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Candidate must be familiar with Key Technology equipment and how it is built.
  • Candidate will be expected to present acceptable WPS test for an entry level position.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all established safety and company policies are being followed. Communicate issues with the area manager.
  • Provide guidance and/or training to new employees as needed.
  • Load work to the appropriate areas as needed to support production flow.
  • Understand and train others on the operation of equipment and work performed in the area. Occasional operation of equipment or completion of work within the area may be required.
  • Ensure that work is being completed per the appropriate engineering drawing and/or work instruction and in the order identified by the production schedule or communicated priority.
  • Keep records of all training and production errors
  • Access systems to generate reports, enter information, check inventory, etc.
  • Request kits from the stockroom and/or issue parts as needed.
  • Interface with Engineering to resolve drawing issues.
  • Assume the area Manager's authority and responsibility for carrying out daily activities on the occasions that the Manger is not present.
  • Obtain and maintain fork lift certification.
  • Verify that operator preventative maintenance has been completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure that 5S and calibration activities are performed as required.
