About The Position

The Team Lead helps manage and support a team of Patient Safety Associates. They work under the MHS Manager and help make sure patients receive excellent service. When the manager is not around, the Team Lead steps in to help guide the team, assist with scheduling, and support daily operations. They may also fill in and perform PSA duties as needed. Note: Team Leads must understand the responsibilities of each role they supervise and may be asked to perform any of those tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
At least 4 years of experience as a PSA or CNA (minimum 3 months in a PSA role required)
Must pass background and drug screenings
Can legally work in the U.S.
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
Meets required health and vaccination standards
Comfortable with basic computer programs (like Microsoft Word or Excel)
Can write professional emails and reports
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Professional and dependable
Has a passion for patient care and strong attention to detail
Understands general workplace practices like customer service and staff support
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, see, and hear.
Can lift up to 50 pounds often and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Can push and pull up to 100–350 pounds (such as moving patients in wheelchairs)
May need to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) depending on assignment.
Must be able to pass a health screening for PPE use.
The ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours such as weekends, holidays, and longer shifts is sometimes required.
Practices preventative safety procedures as set forth by MHS and the client.
Immediately reports accidents, vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs.

Responsibilities

Acts as a role model by performing PSA duties during shifts.
Covers PSA breaks and meals when needed.
Helps train and coach PSAs to improve their skills.
Assists with scheduling and tracking attendance.
Leads the team in delivering quality care and support to patients.
Reports concerns to the Nurse in charge and/or MHS Team Lead.
Assigns team members to routine or special duties as directed.
Communicates clearly with coworkers and supervisors, both verbally and written.
Models appropriate dress, grooming, and performance.
Handles team conflicts calmly and confidentially, escalating to higher levels when needed.
Keeps sensitive patient and work information private in accordance with HIPAA.
Stays calm in high-pressure situations.
Performs other duties as required.
