About The Position

The position involves working under general supervision to assemble and test parts, components, or systems for wheel loaders and motor graders on the assembly line, according to specified work orders. As a Team Lead, you will lead your team in continuous improvement efforts, coordinate, oversee, and monitor activities within a specific factory function in Assembly.

Requirements

• Must have an “Expected” or greater level of performance
• Previous experience in machine assembly experience
• Experience working with lean manufacturing principles such as following standard work, continuous improvement, eliminating waste, 5S and BIQ
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Pass a Background Screening
• Pass a Drug Screening
• Pass a Post-Offer Medical Questionnaire (clearance from Corporate Medical)

• Further vocational and/or college education
• Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Assemble/test parts, components, or systems for wheel loaders and motor graders according to the specified work orders
• Lead your team in efforts to support continuous improvement
• Coordinate, oversee and monitor activities within a specific factory function in Assembly
• Use various tools provided in the work area to perform assembly duties
• May include the use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs
• Perform other related work duties as assigned
• Follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, Standard Work and Built in Quality
• Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Meet deadlines
• Multitask and prioritize work
• Contribute as a team member
• Train new and develop existing employees
• Act as a liaison between team members and section managers
• Serve as the first point of contact for questions related to employee job functions
• Perform administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards
• May provide input on schedule/build adjustments
• May communicate with cross-functional leaders
• Rely on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks
• Communicate potential build schedule, inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section manager
