About The Position

The YES Team Lead will support part-time Youth Coaches, other Supervisors, and other staff with providing effective community alternatives to out-of-home placement. The team lead will provide ongoing support, guidance, and input to further opportunities and programming, ensuring efficient and effective operation of the YES program. This individual is responsible for the development and quality of services, and for providing youth, staff and families with appropriate services available. The team lead must display a commitment to strength-based community services and a solution focused approach to supporting children and families, and be willing and able to engage youth and caregivers in creating workable plans for success. Schedule flexibility is required to be available in the evenings and weekends when needed. Candidates should be comfortable working with youth within their homes as well as within the community. Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, and organizational skills are required.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field required
  • 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in youth, community, or child welfare settings required
  • 3 years of experience working with youth in a child welfare, community engagement, or related experience required
  • Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required

Responsibilities

  • Effectively develop, implement, supervise, and administer policies, procedures and personnel to accomplish objective of the program.
  • Work within all New York State Office of Children and Family Services mandated preventive regulations and maintain a collaborative, working relationship with the county Department of Social Services.
  • Continuously maintain and enhance positive relationships with recipients of services as well as other local human service providers that are comprehensive, meet essential regulations, and contract specifications.
  • Complete all required reports and documentation in a timely manner meeting all standards of content and professional presentation.
  • Initiate, develop, and implement valid, innovative best practice programming consistent with progressive trends, directions, and research.
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and enhance all programming.
  • Exercise an in-depth knowledge of juvenile law supervision and administration.
  • Act as a positive role model and advocate, helping youth navigate challenges and improve their quality of life.
