About The Position

We are seeking a driven, polished, and performance-oriented hospitality professional to join our San Diego tasting room as Team Lead. This role works in tandem with the General Manager to elevate performance, drive wine club growth, and execute a polished, brand-aligned guest experience. The Team Lead leads from the floor through example, results, and ownership. This position carries leadership expectation and is being added with clear expectations around measurable performance and immediate impact.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Strong foundational wine knowledge required
  • Demonstrated success in hospitality or wine sales
  • Proven ability to convert guests into long-term relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing proposals and contracts
  • Passion for Santa Barbara County wines and vineyard-driven winemaking
  • Availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Drive wine club growth by personally leading the team in signups
  • Be held to a defined quota and consistently hit it
  • Set the standard for how wine club is presented, positioned, and followed through on
  • Work alongside the General Manager to train, mentor, and elevate team performance in wine club conversations
  • Support the GM in maintaining accountability for team performance
  • Listen to team feedback and help refine club messaging and execution
  • Build authentic connections between existing members and the tasting room
  • Strengthen the sense of community that makes the wine club integral to the larger business
  • Deliver exceptional hospitality to club members and act as a trusted liaison
  • Serve as primary contact for private events and collaborations
  • Manage and respond to the events inbox promptly and professionally
  • Reach out to potential collaborators and build local partnerships
  • Identify new opportunities that drive traffic and revenue
  • Maintain and manage a forward-facing events calendar
  • Prepare proposals and contracts using approved templates
  • Coordinate events from inquiry through completion
  • Execute events with professionalism, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Drive event revenue and conversion opportunities
  • Communicate event details to the General Manager and team clearly and in advance
  • Provide marketing with timely, thorough event information to support promotion
  • Assist marketing with content capture (photo/video) during events and activations
  • Communicate event details and programming clearly to the marketing team
  • Ensure alignment between on-the-ground execution and brand standards
  • Support initiatives that increase visibility and engagement in the local market
  • Deliver outstanding hospitality rooted in knowledge, care, and precision
  • Guide guests through tasting flights with authority and warmth
  • Accurately communicate the stories behind our wines, vineyards, and winemaking practices
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Santa Barbara County wines
  • Act as a leadership presence on the floor in partnership with the General Manager
  • Support daily operations with initiative and professionalism
  • Consistently hit wine club quota
  • Be among the top revenue producers on the team
  • Elevate team wine club performance through leadership and mentorship
  • Generate consistent event revenue through private bookings and partnerships
  • Strengthen member engagement and retention
  • Contribute directly to the financial performance of the tasting room
