About The Position

The Boxer Team Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the Boxing Area and all phases of manual electrode packaging. This role supports safe, efficient, and high-quality production by managing changeovers, optimizing packaging station setup and operation, ensuring proper labeling and documentation, and coordinating with cross functional production teams to meet the production schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform general math for production records.
  • Ability to understand and interpret specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with minimal supervision required.
  • Knowledge of extruding department processes, equipment capabilities, and production methods.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Safety and quality focused, self-motivated work approach.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures safety, workmanship, product quality, and productivity within the Boxing Area.
  • Leads and coordinates all phases of manual electrode packaging operations.
  • Prepares for and executes packaging changeovers to support production schedules.
  • Sets up, optimizes, and maintains packaging stations to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Supports boxers during production interruptions by troubleshooting issues, adjusting, and replacing parts to minimize downtime.
  • Oversees packaging station startups following changeovers and verifies readiness for production.
  • Collaborates with the Shift Foreman, Team Leads, Mixers, and production teams across Chemical, Cut‑off, and Extruding areas.
  • Reviews production schedules and changes with the Shift Foreman and Team Leads approximately 30 minutes into each shift.
  • Identifies, addresses, and resolves production, quality, and workflow issues.
  • Completes, reviews, and verifies the accuracy of production documentation, including Changeover Sheets, Part Sheets, and Pay Cards.
  • Verifies labels, codes, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), lot numbers, and packaging materials; removes outdated materials during changeovers.
  • Supports training, special orders, WIP coordination, Canadian order requirements, material ordering, employee concerns, and maintains clean, compliant work areas.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s RISE Strategy.
