The Team Lead – Receiving & Inventory is responsible for overseeing daily receiving and inventory control operations while ensuring accuracy, traceability, and efficient material flow. This role combines hands-on warehouse execution with frontline leadership to support team performance, maintain system integrity, and uphold inventory standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations experience preferred
  • Prior experience leading, training, or mentoring team members is an asset
  • Experience with ERP systems and barcode scanning tools preferred
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and inventory accuracy skills
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in a warehouse environment
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support receiving and inventory associates in daily warehouse activities
  • Assign tasks, monitor workload, and ensure timely processing of inbound materials
  • Train new team members on procedures, systems, and safety requirements
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized warehouse environment
  • Escalate discrepancies, staffing concerns, or operational risks to the Warehouse Manager
  • Oversee receipt of inbound shipments from suppliers and internal transfers
  • Verify quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, and product condition against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Ensure real-time and accurate receipt transactions within ERP systems
  • Coordinate labeling, barcoding, and proper storage of materials in assigned locations
  • Support efficient inventory movement to production and shipping areas
  • Lead cycle counts and support full physical inventory counts
  • Investigate discrepancies, damages, and inventory variances; support root-cause resolution
  • Maintain clear documentation and traceability within warehouse systems
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations
