About The Position

This position provides management support to the Wet Chemistry group that is responsible for performing process engineering through detailed design, build, testing, installation, and operation of process equipment across all projects and programs. This includes directing the work of individual contributors on the team, supporting the management of resource and organizational needs of the process engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, material science engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Typically, seven plus years of professional experience in engineering after completion of undergraduate study.
  • Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience.
  • One to three years’ experience in CAD and/or P&ID is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two to five years of experience managing a team of engineers is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the process engineering detailed design, build, testing, installation, and operation of process equipment across assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program / project requirements.
  • Lead a team of process engineers that are responsible for the wet chemistry processes including but not limited to acid deficient urinal nitrate, gelation, solvent recovery, liquid chemical processing, liquid chemical transportation, evaporation, filtration, storage, mixing, etc.
  • Supports with the management of the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensures qualified engineers are performing assigned work.
  • Lead design cycle sprints and provide direction to ensure the convergence of efforts of engineering team members, partners, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering work products are on schedule and within budget as defined by the Engineering and Project leadership.
  • Manage process engineering staff by ensuring staff are meeting expectations and promoting staff professional development.
  • Lead the development of specifications for process equipment and work with equipment suppliers to ensure critical design characteristics are met for equipment delivery.
  • Lead subcontractors and suppliers to design, construct, deliver, and install process equipment.
  • Influences and supports the development of strategy, methodology and technical tools for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to create the next generation nuclear reactor technologies.
  • Perform work in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation of work, facilitation of internal and external design reviews, and control of product design configuration data.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
