Assesses and processes physician prescription and medication orders. Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel. Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the related duties. Provides direct patient care utilizing Pharmacist treatment protocols. Stays current on Pharmacy protocols, practices and procedures. Provides technical direction for Pharmacy staff and is a resource for application of department policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Supervisor, is accountable for the day-to-day oversight and operations to ensure delivery of quality pharmacy services and ensures adequate staffing/coverage to meet business needs. Coordinates, facilitates and integrates Pharmacy services for department. Promotes excellence based on department and organizational goals with a commitment to the mission and philosophy. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree OR Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college/school of Pharmacy. Minimum of one (1) year' Pharmacist experience required. Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred. Additional Qualifications Knowledge of federal, state, and Joint Commission regulations governing general Pharmacist practices and for acute care facilities. Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles. Knowledge of Pharmacist practices and principles. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated skill in applying professional Pharmacy methods and techniques. Research assignment also includes: Knowledge of enterprise research structure; Knowledge of Diagnostic Oriented Groups (D.O.G.); Knowledge of Investigational and Research drug services; and Knowledge of Investigational and Research Pharmacy practices and principles including but not limited to: Oversight of investigational and research staff; Site selection and initiation visits; Study budgeting and protocol development; Study and protocol set up in Vestigo (dispensing and labeling, electronic inventory, automated protocol billing and drug accountability logs); and Experience in training Pharmacy staff on investigational and research protocols. License or Certification Current Arizona State Board of Pharmacy license. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.
