About The Position

The Foam Sheet Night Shift Team Lead serves as both a Team Lead and an Operator, responsible for coordinating and overseeing production activities in the converting area within the department. This role is focused on safely, effectively, and efficiently meeting or exceeding all manufacturing and quality standards while leading and motivating the team to achieve performance goals.

  • Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is preferred, with some knowledge of Microsoft Word/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership to team members through training, troubleshooting, and coaching.
  • Operate the production line while maintaining set production standards and ensuring product quality.
  • Assist the Assistant Operator and/or Production Utility Worker as needed.
  • Conduct required quality checks and accurately complete all necessary documentation.
  • Minimize scrap while maximizing the return of scrap and reproduction into the machine.
  • Troubleshoot processing techniques and production machinery to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all existing and new production equipment through ongoing training.
  • Identify and implement solutions to departmental challenges, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and production performance.
  • Send manpower updates via email at the beginning of each shift, ensuring clear communication of staffing levels, coverage adjustments, and potential gaps.
  • Provide end-of-shift updates summarizing production performance, key issues, downtime, quality concerns, and necessary follow-ups for the next shift.
  • Coordinate vacation coverage for the opposite shift rotation to ensure adequate staffing and minimal production disruptions.
  • Strictly adhere to company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations, including compliance with all PPE requirements.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of production processes, promptly reporting any defects or concerns.
  • Support, demonstrate, and promote Pregis’ core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation.
  • Participate in meetings and complete all required safety training.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in cross-training team members to enhance workforce flexibility and skill development.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to support preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Engage in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to improve overall performance.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
