The Team Lead, North American Operations, also assists Supervisors with scheduling and managing day-to-day activity of EFW Coordinators and Specialists to ensure continual success and improvement of operational service integrity, staff development, cost containment, and revenue/profit enhancement. To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty.   • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of operational progress as requested by supervisor.
  • Assist with mentoring of Specialists and Coordinators.
  • Provide guidance and act as a resource for questions and issue resolution with staff members.
  • Create and maintain strong, positive working relationships with Coordinators and Specialists, internal customers, external consumers, and all service providers.
  • Review and address service and cost issues on a day to day basis by formulating corrective measures to both eliminate issues and/or maximize opportunities from both single shipments and consolidations.
  • Monitor shipments within area of responsibility to ensure most current information is available and complete. This includes status updates, costing, charges, trace notes, and service failures, as well as customer follow-up.
  • Assist with any issues or questions that fall beyond the ability or knowledge of assigned Coordinators and Specialists.
  • Aggressively pursue and ensure 100% compliance with all TSA regulations regarding the Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program and Shipper’s Security Endorsements as directed by their manager.
  • Ensure correct document flow of agents, surface carriers, and appropriate TSA documents.
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving, quantitative analysis, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to clearly convey short and long term defined goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and job specific software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure complete customer satisfaction and create repeat business opportunities while operating.
  • Must be able to be on call 24 hours and work flexible shifts including nights and weekends as required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; develop individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others' efforts.
  • Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments.
  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through standardized solutions that require some analysis.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree (or equivalent) and preferably 2-4 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related business or activity with a clear understanding of multiple modes and service within the transportation/logistics industry.
  • Two years of experience supervising small teams in a fast paced environment preferred.
  • However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
