About The Position

The Team Leader, Facilities plays an essential role in supervising and training our Facility Technicians. They will perform routine and specialized duties as well as assist in operational planning and directing the work of the Technicians. Key Accountabilities Perform all duties of a Senior Technician Offer suggestions for performance evaluation; oversee the duties of designated crew members. Give support to supervisors with regards to accomplishing tasks while referring uncommon personnel or technical issues to the supervisor. Teach skills and techniques to new technicians. Oversee and suggest improvements in the work and procedural compliance Assure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety practices and to the relevant Federal, State, and Local codes. Ensure compliance to preventative maintenance requirements Engage in thorough troubleshooting to replace or repair fans and motors, bells, clocks and lightening circuits, as well as audio visual and communication equipment. Engage in diverse skill activities such as repairs of roof, doors, windows and other building components. Make an estimate of cost of labor and items needed for work orders; acquires competitive prices for supplies and equipment required by the district. Assist in Supervisory oversight to meet compliance, demands, and performance expectations. This also includes but is not limited to providing exceptional leadership to staff members regarding; performance management; training and professional development; coaching; safety; and ethical practices. Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Post-Secondary Certification in related field preferred OR combination of education and industry-specific experience or leadership experience.
  • Qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines
  • Experience managing an in-house maintenance team and external service providers
  • Experience of waste management- ideally different waste streams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint) with willingness and ability to learn company-specific systems and software
  • Work in a standing position on concrete for 2 hrs at a time
  • Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team; Motivating and empowering your team to get the best out of them
  • Ability to create a supportive environment for your team, setting clear expectations
  • Strong communication skills - both written and oral
  • Ability to teach and monitor the work of personnel
  • Ability to communicate well with both employees and supervisors

  • Must be able and willing to work holidays and weekends on rotation

  • Avoid contact with rodent species outside of work
